Literary Romantasy
Slow-burn fantasy romance set in a world
where every debt is kept, every vow has teeth,
and the most dangerous thing is being read.
The Stories
A slow-burn, closed-door literary romantasy. Wren is a mortal curse-cutter. The kingdom of Veyr is counting its debts. Available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.
Wren cuts curses out of the realm's worst men — eight silver a throat — and survives by staying unseen. Then a fae lord with drowned-green eyes and an impossible binding sits down at her bar, the cut goes wrong, and a thread of silver ties them pulse to pulse.

The crown is won, and the bond that won it is going cold. Something patient is moving against the new throne, and the only road to the truth runs south — back to the mother Wren left and a house of women who have kept the same secret, in writing, for four hundred years.

For fifty-eight years the order has prepared for this autumn, and Wren has stopped waiting for it to come to her. She rides to the end of the kept road, toward a thing older than the throne that has been waiting for her in particular.

Sorrel reads people the way other women read weather — one look and she knows exactly where a soul will break. The gift pays the rent on a back room and costs her the shake in her hands.

The Author
Christa M. Blake writes literary romantasy and slow-burn fantasy romance. She grew up on too many fairy tales and has been trying to write her own version of one ever since.
Her books are set in the world of Veyr — a place where debts are counted in flesh and paper, where curses can be cut from a throat for eight silver, and where the most dangerous thing you can do is let someone read you clearly.
The Unbound Trilogy and the Keeper Duet are both set in Veyr. The trilogy is a complete closed-door slow burn. The Keeper Duet is its spicier, faster companion — no prior reading required, but readers of the trilogy will find threads that pull.
When she isn't writing, she can usually be found reading something with a forest on the cover, drinking too much tea, or arguing with her cat about whose chair it is.
